Forgotten Lyrics

Last night I participated in a Releif Society Birthday Celebration by playing a roll in "The Parable of the Princesses" by Jenny Phillips. I, of course, was the princess who was obsessed with worldly things and herself. Bummer. (I think I was type cast because of the pink hair.) When my turn came to sing my solo, my mind went blank and I forgot the lyrics. Actually, I think I got the first measure's lyrics right and then drew a blank. For about 3 measures I just made up words. But what I really wanted to do is scream out "DO OVER! DO OVER!" That wouldn't have been appropriate so I just kept going until my brain kicked in and I remembered the words. I know the other ladies, Dana and Melissa, must have been wanting to bust a gut and laugh out loud. Truly it was quite humorous to anyone who would have been familiar with the song. I have racked my memories and I don't think I have ever forgotten the words to anything I have performed. Never! Never! I guess there is a first for everything. I hope that never happens to me again because it was torture.

If you hadn't said anything, we wouldn't have known! You did GREAT! Remember, you even made me cry! Now I'm gonna blame it on the forgotten lyrics :) Just kidding!

It isn't the forgotten lyrics that are important. The thing to remember is that you covered it up. Ask your mother if she ever forgot the notes during a piano recital.

I think it's great that you could make up words. I think I would have just started crying! Sounds like you did a good job of covering it up!

Way to go for covering up! No wonder you mentioned your memory loss on the phone! As long as you show no other signs you should be fine! :)
