New Responsibilities

I found out about two weeks ago that I was going to be released from my Young Women's calling. (Our Young Women's President got called to the Stake.) I was bummed. I've been hangin' with the Mia Maids for about 2 years and for several years before that I was hangin' with the Beehives.  Serving in the Young Women's organization can be tough. It is for sure the busiest and most intense calling I've ever experienced, but also SUPER rewarding. I love, love, love, my young women! Yes, I consider them MINE! They are some beautiful, tough cookies. They are strong and courageous. Definitely worthy of some cute stripling warriors. (They love good, cute boys.) I figured my days of serving in Young Women's were over.

That was not to be.

Instead, I got called to step up and fill the shoes of Sister Jamieson as Young Women president. Whoa! I wasn't expecting that, but, thankfully, it feels right and I'm excited. I am grateful I still get to be with my girls. A few of them have had me when they were Beehives, Mia Maids, and now Laurels. They just haven't been able to shake me.

I love my girls. I am loving the women I get to serve with and I am loving that I get to be in Young Women's. Still.

**Can a Young Women's president get a subscription to People Magazine? I've always wanted one.

Good things:

1.  people who lead with love
2.  teenage girls who want to do what's right
3.  supportive family

You are amazing. Those young women will tell their kids about "Sister Sommer" and how she was such a good leader.
