Fallon Tree Lighting

Fallon has had a Tree Lighting Celebration every year for a hundred years or so. The city puts up lots of Christmas lights down town along with a giant tree. Then, on the first Friday of December, they officially turn on the lights. We decided to check out the festivities this year. Jake was suprised to see so many Fallonites there. There was quite the turn out. When the time came to actually light up the night, we (the Fallonites) gathered around and counted down. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1....nothing. The little old lady they had pushing the button didn't do it right and we had to start the counting over. The second time was the charm and the lights on the tree lit up perfectly with all the Fallonites in the street ooh-ing and ahh-ing. Orin didn't get to come with us because he was hanging out with his good friend Broder. We missed him, but he didn't miss us.

Adia's 5th grade class was in a contest to decorate a down town light post. Her class won a pizza party with all of thier gingerbread men and women. It took us a while to find the gingerbread women that Adia made but we did eventually.
