Christmas Lists

Christmas is almost here and I can't wait.

There is something special about this time of year. I love it... at least most of it. I thought I'd make a list about what I love and about what I don't love.
The Nice Things of Christmas
(In no special order.)

Nativities
Christmas carols and music
Gingerbread
Cinnamon pinecones
Christmas lights
Santa Claus
Making matching jammies
Christmas cards from friends
Big fluffy snowflakes
Christmas parties
It's A Wonderful Life
Christmas children's books
Luke 2
My gingerbread house party
Traditions
No. 44- Chorus "Hallelujah!"
Hard shell tacos
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
My kid's Christmas lists
Mistletoe
Goodie plates from neighbors
Wassil
The suspense
Annual Christmas Eve games
My Christmas tree
and
The spirit of Christ

The Not-So-Nice Things of Christmas
(In no special order.)

Wrapping odd shaped gifts
Finding gifts that are good enough for the ones I love
Shopping among the crowds
My homemade gingerbread boys
Unplugging ALL the Christmas lights everynight
Greed

These lists are not all inclusive. Just the things I could think of right now. I'm glad my list of not-so-nice things is smaller than my nice list. Christmas has always been, and hopefully always will be magical for me.

It's the magic of the season that makes this time of year so special. It isn't the presents or the decorations. The music or the treats. The movies or traditions. (Although those are all fun.) It is the feeling in my heart of gratitude to my Savior. He is the center of Christmas and I just pray we can all remember that.
Check out this talk by Jeffrey R. Holland. It says all I feel.

Great blog post. I also dislike wrapping odd shaped presents. And not to brag or anything, but your Christmas decorating skills, and cookie making skills, and lots of other skills are unmatched... Ya, thats right, you heard me...UNMATCHED. You are awesome ladyfox.

Enjoyed your lists. I think they reflect my feelings also. I love the excitement generated by children in their anticipation of the magic of Christmas

Mom When we were talking about the skills you had we really meant it when we said you had cooking skills. And we could help you unplug all the Christmas lights if you asked us to.
