The Poor Boy

Hamilton is a child with a very distinct personality.

He's funny. Always has been. He loves to pull practical jokes on us.

He has swagger. (I didn't teach him that because I don't have any of my own.)

He has a pretty explosive temper.  He has really done well with trying to keep it in check. He knows he can't hurt anyone, himself, or anything. (Mostly he is allowed to scream into his pillow.)

He has this smooth way of getting out of work. Somehow he gets everyone else to do his chores. He's sneaky that way.

He wears his heart on his sleeve.

He REALLY wants to be good and obedient.

He is athletic. He thinks he is the awesome-est at soccer.

He is loving and is always giving me complements.

He, evidently, can wing a talk at anytime.

And, he is a very picky eater.

Several months ago, probably six, I took away all cold cereal from my children. (Keep in mind that this is what was keeping Hams alive.) I was tired of Hamilton not eating ANYTHING I would make. I was also tired of the wasted bowls of cereal.  I had had enough of it.  Slowly we have all adjusted to the change. And thankfully no one has died.

I finally told the children they could eat any of the leftover, 6 month old cereal that was in the pantry.  Thing is, anything left is nothing that great.  This is what I found the poor boy eating this morning...

What 9 year old will eat All-Bran? At least he is smiling.

What a cutie! I love the laughter and uniqueness Hamilton brings to the world. He's a precious gift. Thankful for Hams. Love you all.

Hamilton always makes me smile... when is his birthday? I think a box of captain crunch would be fitting!
